About

Today the world is facing many challenges related to food and nutrition and there is a global demand for qualified nutrition professionals, who can apply their expertise to improve public health and engage in health promotion. Considering this, the college introduced the Applied Nutrition course in the academic year 2019-20. The Department of Applied Nutrition and Public Health was established in the year 2019 and offers a B. Sc (Applied Nutrition) course in combination with Chemistry/Botany/Zoology/ Computer Applications/Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Psychology. The course is self-financed and much sought after with an intake of more than 70 students every year.The course is career orienting in nature that provides many opportunities after its completion. Graduates of the program will be prepared to work in a variety of healthcare roles, including as a nutritionist, nutrition counselor, wellness coach, health educator, health advocate, nutrition researcher etc.

To educate the students to understand the fundamental knowledge of how nutrients and food components function at cellular, systematic, and wholebody levels and impact human health and disease. Contributing to the knowledge-base of nutrition undergraduate through high quality teaching, training, mentorship and extension activities.
